The Art of Architecture: First Nations Design

  • University Place Camperdown, NSW, 2050 Australia (map)

Today, more than ever, First Nations cultural perspectives, community insights and architectural and design practices are shaping the spaces we live in, from cities to homes.

This discussion delves into these themes and broadens the conversation to a global scale as we hear from the newly appointed Creative Directors for the Australian Pavilion at the 2025 Venice Biennale — La Biennale di Venezia 2025.

The First Nations design team, comprising Dr. Michael Mossman and Jack Gillmer, will present their selected entry, HOME — a highly sensory pavilion design that celebrates Australia’s natural environment and Indigenous knowledge.

Debuting in Venice in May 2025, HOME will explore Aboriginal knowledge and sustainable design, providing an immersive experience that fosters a deep connection to culture and Country.
